SITUATION:
A private developer found his contract to purchase and develop an airport and adjacent lands the subject of aggressive political challenges, including attempts to overturn his deal and his substantial investment via eminent domain. Local competitors started an intensive campaign designed to demonize our client and, together with local political and environmental groups, they sought to undo our client's deal.
We were retained to help create, oversee and execute an overall strategy.
RESOLUTION:
We drew outside attention to the situation via story placement in the Wall Street Journal and elsewhere and brought the issue directly before Congress and the FAA as well as at the state level. As a result of shining sunlight on the situation, the matter was resolved favorably for our client.
